As the investigation into Kanpur-based pharmaceutical businessman Vineet Minocha continues, police have found WhatsApp chats between his daughter-in-law and the accused.

Vishal used to send Shalu “good morning" and “good night" messages, but she never responded. However, she started engaging in conversations with him three months ago. She complimented Vishal on his looks, telling him that he was smart, and asked whether he was in a relationship and why he had not yet married, a police official told The Times of India.

Vishal deleted his WhatsApp chat history but failed to erase his call records, which led police to their alleged conspiracy.

Police found that Shalu and Vishal exchanged more than 300 calls and messages between May 1 and the day of the murder.

Why Shalu Killed Her ‘Sasur’

Shalu allegedly conspired to kill her father-in-law after becoming upset over restrictions he allegedly imposed on her lifestyle.

Vishal allegedly stabbed Minocha 26 times on Saturday, resulting in his death. He was later arrested along with his alleged accomplice, Raj Kishore, 30.

Vishal and Raj Kishore allegedly entered the apartment and hid in the bedroom. A security guard told police that Shalu had allowed the two men to enter the residential complex.

After returning home, Shalu allegedly pretended to be unaware of what had happened. Police said she cried and even fainted after seeing her father-in-law’s body.

Earlier this month, a 58-year-old woman was found murdered during a robbery at her residence in the Keshavpuram area of Kanpur. Police suspect that the perpetrators may have been familiar with the house and had prior knowledge of where valuables were kept, officials said.

Uma’s body was found seated on a chair inside the house, with a bruise visible on her neck. Her belongings were scattered across different parts of the residence, indicating that a search for valuables may have taken place.

However, police and forensic teams examining the scene did not find any apparent signs of forced entry into the house. This has led investigators to suspect that the accused may have been known to the family or could have had detailed information about the house and its occupants.
