Police intensify manhunt for escaped Bangladeshi national in Kochi

The Palarivattom police have intensified search for a Bangladeshi national, who reportedly escaped from their custody on Wednesday (September 9, 2026) night.

Hadiulla Khan, 31, was one of the six Bangladeshi nationals arrested for allegedly staying in Kochi without valid travel documents. According to the first information report registered by the police, he escaped from the station by climbing out through the bathroom window around 8.30 pm.

Hadiulla and others were allegedly found staying in a rented house at Palarivattom without valid passports, visas, or other documents authorising their stay in India. Investigation is also under way as to when and how they entered the country and whether anyone facilitated their stay.
