The Telangana government has raised the upper age limit for direct recruitment to constable and equivalent posts in the Police, Fire Services, Prisons and Special Protection Force departments by another three years.

The relaxation, issued through a Government Order dated September 9, 2026, is in addition to the seven-year relaxation already granted through earlier orders in May and August.

The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board said the additional relaxation would apply to the recruitment notifications issued on July 29 for SCT PCs (Civil) and equivalent posts, and SCT PC (Mechanic) posts. The relaxation does not apply to the SCT PC (Driver) post in the police department.

Apply by 5 p.m. on September 16

Candidates who become eligible under the revised age criteria have been asked to submit their applications online through the Recruitment Board’s website by 5 p.m. on September 16.

The board advised eligible candidates to submit their applications early, warning that those waiting until the last day could face heavy online traffic, delayed responses or failure of application submission.

The age relaxation follows the government’s decision to provide further opportunity for candidates who had crossed the previously prescribed upper age limit for the notified posts.
