The Hindu seminar: students told to move beyond comfort zone to excel in career

Experts advised students of RVR & JC Engineering College to move beyond their comfort zones and explore opportunities in management and technology to shape careers, at a seminar organised by The Hindu Future India Club (FIC) and SRM University-AP in association with the college on the campus near Guntur on Thursday.

Prof. Satya Duvvuri of Paari School of Business, SRM University-AP, said career success depended on aspirations, choices and learning rather than circumstances.

“Your destiny is in your hands,” he told students, encouraging them to move beyond limitations and create their own paths.

The session opened with a discussion on students’ career plans after graduation. Addressing concerns over unemployment, the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on jobs, communication challenges and uncertainties faced by students from smaller towns, Prof. Duvvuri stressed self-belief, adaptability and learning.

He cited many examples of successful leaders who began their career with engineering or science backgrounds and transformed their technical knowledge into influential leadership careers. Their strong foundation in technology served as a launchpad for excellence and impact, he said.

Prof. Duvvuri advised students to use their strengths in analytical ability, comprehension skills and proficiency in AI tools to stay competitive in the evolving job market.

He urged students to keep learning, actively pursue their interests and explore opportunities beyond their comfort zones. He advised them to focus on excellence and continuous growth instead of pursuing money alone.

Principal Kolla Srinivas delivered the opening remarks, while V.V.S. Pradeep, Assistant Director, SRM-AP, delivered closing remarks.
