A CCTV video shows a speeding Tata Tiago EV crashing into six vehicles on Ludhiana’s Bahadurke Road, sending a motorcyclist flying and leaving five people injured.

A speeding electric car crashed into six vehicles on Ludhiana’s Bahadurke Road on Thursday, leaving five people injured. The impact sent a motorcyclist flying through the air, while one of the e-rickshaws involved in the collision overturned on the road.

The accident took place at around 4:35 pm on September 24 and was captured on CCTV. The footage shows traffic moving normally before a Tata Tiago EV suddenly approaches at high speed and crashes into a cyclist and a motorcyclist.

The collision threw the motorcyclist into the air. He was seen tumbling several times before landing on the road around 30 feet from the point of impact.

The car continued moving after the first collision and struck two e-bikes and an Activa scooter. One of the e-rickshaws overturned following the impact.

Five people were injured in the crash and were taken to hospital for treatment. Jatinder Pal Singh, who was driving one of the e-rickshaws, was among those injured.

Singh claimed that the car was travelling at around 100-120 kmph and alleged that its driver may have been under the influence of alcohol. This claim has not been independently established.

Driver Taken Into Custody

Police from the Salem Tabri police station reached the spot after receiving information about the crash and began an investigation. The driver of the Tata Tiago EV was taken into police custody as part of the probe.

The CCTV footage is being examined as police investigate how the collision occurred and the circumstances surrounding the driver’s alleged high-speed driving.
