ED summons Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi in Sahiti Infratec money-laundering probe

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi for questioning in its money-laundering probe into Sahiti Infratec Ventures India Private Limited (SIVIPL), after around ₹2.1 crore from the company was allegedly found to have been routed through his bank accounts.

The ED issued the summons on Thursday (September 24, 2026) asking Mr. Gandhi to appear before the agency on Monday (September 28, 2026). Investigators are expected to question him about the nature and purpose of the transactions and seek an explanation for the money received from the company.

The summons come as part of the ED’s wider investigation into the alleged diversion of money collected by SIVIPL from homebuyers. The agency took up the money-laundering probe on the basis of cases registered by the Telangana Police against the company, its managing director B. Lakshminarayan and others following complaints from buyers.

According to the ED, SIVIPL collected advances from homebuyers through pre-launch offers for residential projects but allegedly failed to deliver the promised flats or refund their money. The agency has estimated the proceeds of crime generated through the alleged scheme at ₹842.15 crore. Of this, ₹216.91 crore was allegedly collected in cash from homebuyers and kept outside the company’s books.

The ED has alleged that funds collected from buyers were siphoned off through transactions with related as well as unrelated entities and individuals without genuine business purposes. It has also alleged that substantial amounts were withdrawn in cash, while some funds were diverted to overseas bank accounts of Lakshminarayan and his family members.

Mr. Gandhi’s questioning is expected to centre on the ₹2.1-crore money trail and the circumstances under which the funds allegedly moved from SIVIPL into his accounts.
