BJP MP Raghav Chadha's name was added to the Rajinder Nagar electoral roll after due process, following his Form 6 application submission on August 26

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Raghav Chadha’s name was added to the electoral roll of the Rajinder Nagar constituency after due process, days after he applied for inclusion through Form 6 on August 26, according to the Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi.

“The Electoral Registration Officer approved the application on September 2, 2026, after the mandatory 7-day notice period", according to a statement from the Office of the Delhi CEO.

The development came after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged that Chadha, a former leader of the party who joined the BJP in April, had got himself enrolled illegally as a voter in Delhi after his name was dropped from the draft Special Intensive Revision (SIR) roll last month in Punjab, where he had been registered as a voter since at least 2024.

“The ECI guidelines state that the final electoral roll is published after the revision period and disposal of claims and objections. However, once a Form-6 application is approved, the elector’s name begins reflecting in the database immediately, in continuation of the last serial number of the draft roll", the statement read.

Form 6 is the official application form that allows citizens to apply for a new voter identity card or to seek inclusion in the electoral roll.

‘Chadha’s Name Added Through Back Door’

The AAP alleged that Chadha’s name was added “through the back door".

Writing on X, Anurag Dhanda, AAP’s national media in-charge, alleged that there was no record of the form-6 submission by the BJP MP on the official website of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

“No record of form 6 submission by Raghav Chadha on EC website or any of the records made public. Isn’t it mandatory to list all form 6 applications and publish it in form 9 to invite any objections on the application?"

He demanded that the form-6 submission by Chadha be made public.

“I challenge @CeodelhiOffice and @ECISVEEP to make the form 6 date and record of Raghav Chadha public. Let people see how you include votes in voter list from back door. What is there to hide?"
