Tributes paid to philosopher Satchidananda Murty on his birth anniversary

The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Andhra University, in Visakhapatnam commemorated the birth anniversary of eminent philosopher and Padma Vibhushan awardee K. Satchidananda Murty on Friday.

Jaladi Ravi, principal, College of Arts and Commerce, Andhra University, paid floral tributes and garlanded the statue of Kotha Satchidananda Murty. He recalled Murty’s contributions to philosophy, education and the academic development of Andhra University.

K. Ramesh Babu, Head of the Department of Philosophy, highlighted the enduring legacy of Murty and his contributions to philosophy, higher education, and the intellectual and academic traditions of Andhra University. He said Murty’s philosophical vision, scholarship and commitment to promoting Indian philosophical thought continued to inspire generations of students and scholars.

Kotha Ramesh Babu, son of K. Satchidananda Murty, Ravi Babu, retired professor, faculty members, research scholars and students attended the programme and paid their respects to the philosopher.
