A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped on her birthday in Delhi's Aastha Kunj Park by three men posing as police, who threatened her with a gun and knives.

The Aastha Kunj gang-rape survivor was raped on her birthday, with a knife held to her neck, according to her FIR statement accessed exclusively by CNN-News18.

The 17-year-old girl, who had gone to Delhi’s Kalkaji Mandir on her birthday to offer prayers, was allegedly gang raped by three men inside Aastha Kunj Park, with the accused allegedly posing as police personnel and threatening her with a gun and knives.

According to the survivor’s statement, she had planned to visit Kalkaji Mandir with a male friend and later offer prayers at an ISKCON temple.

She told police that she left her home in an auto around 5 pm and reached the temple at around 5:45 pm. The two remained there until around 7 pm before buying chips and water near Kalkaji Metro Station.

The survivor said she and her friend subsequently entered Aastha Kunj Park through Gate No. 7. She told police that she suggested they sit on a bench, eat the chips and then continue towards the ISKCON temple.

Accused Slapped Survivor’s Friend

According to her FIR statement, three men aged between 30 and 35 approached them shortly after they sat down. She alleged that the men grabbed her friend and slapped him before claiming to be policemen and questioning them about their presence in the park.

“As soon as we entered the park and sat on the bench and opened the pack of chips, three men, aged between 30 and 35, came and they caught hold of my friend and slapped him. When we inquired who they were, they told us they were policemen and asked us why we had come, and it’s not allowed to come here," the survivor said in the FIR.

The survivor alleged that one of the men took her friend away while the accused also took their mobile phones. She said two of the men then gestured towards a bushy area and asked her to go there.

‘Asif Bhai Gun Nikal’

Frightened, she told them that they could ask her questions where they were and speak to her mother, according to the statement.

The survivor alleged that one of the men then said, “Asif bhai gun nikal". She identified the man referred to as Asif as the one wearing a purple shirt and described him as the most heavily built among the three.

According to her statement, Asif showed her a black-coloured gun before putting it back in his pocket. She alleged that the men subsequently took out knives and forced her towards a dark area of the park.

Survivor’s Horrific Ordeal In FIR

The girl alleged that Asif took her to a red bench, held a knife to her neck and raped her. She told police that she was crying because she was experiencing severe pain.

According to the FIR, Asif then called the second accused, telling him, “Hemu, keep a watch, see that nobody comes this side".

The survivor alleged that Hemu and Deepu also subsequently raped her while keeping a knife at her neck.

After the alleged assaults, the men then brought her friend back and returned their mobile phones.

According to her statement, the accused threatened the two and told them to leave immediately, warning that they would be killed if they disclosed what had happened.

The survivor said that after they were taken out of the park, she told her friend about the alleged rape. Her friend then called the police control room (PCR), following which police personnel reached the spot.

The case has been registered at Amar Colony Police Station. Further investigation is underway.
