The 18th BRICS summit will bring together leaders of the expanded 11-member grouping, partner countries and UN Secretary-General António Guterres in Delhi on September 12-13.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and leaders from the expanded BRICS grouping are among those expected to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mega diplomatic event in New Delhi as India hosts the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit on September 12 and 13.

India is chairing BRICS this year, with the summit scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam. The main leaders’ programme will begin on September 12 with the heads of the 11 BRICS member countries, while leaders from partner countries and outreach invitees will join the summit proceedings on September 13.

The summit agenda will include discussions on multilateralism, trade, investment, energy and food security, supply chains and global governance.

BRICS Summit 2026: Full List Of Leaders From Member Countries

The expanded BRICS grouping currently has 11 full members — Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The leaders expected to attend the New Delhi summit include:

Xi Jinping — President, China
Vladimir Putin — President, Russia
Cyril Ramaphosa — President, South Africa
Masoud Pezeshkian — President, Iran
Abdel Fattah el-Sisi — President, Egypt
Abiy Ahmed — Prime Minister, Ethiopia
Prabowo Subianto — President, Indonesia
Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan — Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, UAE
Mauro Vieira — Foreign Minister, Brazil

Which Partner Countries Will Attend BRICS Summit 2026?

Apart from the leaders of BRICS member countries, representatives from partner and outreach countries have also been invited for the summit programme.

The expected attendees include:

Alexander Lukashenko — President, Belarus
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev — President, Kazakhstan
Anwar Ibrahim — Prime Minister, Malaysia
Anutin Charnvirakul — Prime Minister, Thailand
Miguel Díaz-Canel — President, Cuba
Bola Ahmed Tinubu — President, Nigeria
Shavkat Mirziyoyev — President, Uzbekistan
Jessica Alupo — Vice-President, Uganda

UN Secretary-General António Guterres is also expected to attend the summit.

PM Modi To Address BRICS Business Forum Ahead Of Leaders’ Meet

Ahead of the main two-day summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the BRICS Business Forum in New Delhi on September 11. The forum is expected to see participation from top business leaders from China, Russia, Brazil, the UAE and other BRICS countries.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar are expected to address the opening session. The discussions will focus on agriculture, trade, investment, supply chains and the digital economy before moving into a leaders’ session expected to be addressed by PM Modi.

Chinese Business Delegation At BRICS Business Forum

A large Chinese business delegation is expected to visit India ahead of the BRICS Summit. Among the prominent Chinese business leaders expected at the forum are Houliang Dai, chairman of CNPC; Lin Liao, chairman of ICBC; and Min Wan, chairman of China COSCO Shipping Corporation.

Senior executives from Huawei Technologies and Alibaba Group are also expected to attend.

The delegation is expected to discuss trade, investment, technology and supply chains with Indian and other BRICS businesses.

Global Corporate Leaders Expected At BRICS Business Meet

Several senior business leaders from other BRICS countries are also expected to attend the forum.

The list includes:

Francisco Gomes Neto — President and CEO, Embraer Gustavo
Pimenta — CEO, Vale
Phuthi Mahanyele-Dabengwa — CEO, Naspers
Oleg Belozerov — CEO and Chairman, Russian Railways
Alexander Vedyakhin — First Deputy Chairman, Sberbank

The companies represented at the meeting span sectors including energy, banking, technology, shipping, aviation and mining.

BRICS was formed in 2006 by Brazil, Russia, India and China. South Africa joined the grouping in 2010, while Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the UAE became members in 2024. Indonesia later became a full member.
